Heather Hardy lawsuit against Jake Paul and MVP

Overview

Former WBO featherweight champion Heather Hardy has filed a federal lawsuit in Texas seeking over $10 million in damages from Jake Paul, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Bryce Holden, and Holden Boxing.

Hardy alleges that the defendants were negligent in arranging her August 2023 rematch against Amanda Serrano. The complaint claims the bout resulted in permanent neurological damage, including traumatic brain injury, memory loss, double vision, anxiety, and spatial confusion. Hardy further alleges violations of the Muhammad Ali Act, describing the fight as an “execution” intended to boost Serrano’s profile. She has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover living expenses due to impairments that may prevent regular employment.

Most Valuable Promotions has denied the allegations, stating that all applicable protocols were followed and that Hardy was medically cleared by the overseeing athletic commission. MVP noted that the fight was arranged through Hardy’s promoter, Lou DiBella, and proceeded under official commission supervision.
