Heathrow Airport: Four jailed for CS spray attack and theft

Four men have been jailed following a violent incident at Heathrow Airport involving the use of suspected CS spray. Tyrone Richards, 31, Anton Clarke-Butcher, 25, Omoneke Whyte, 31, and Denzel Eduardo, 29, were sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court after pleading guilty to affray.

The attack occurred on December 7 near Terminal 3. Three masked men discharged the substance into a lift containing two women who had arrived from Johannesburg. The gas leaked from the lift to the ground floor, affecting people in a nearby Caffè Nero. One worker reported vomiting blood after the sudden exposure, and a total of 21 holidaymakers were injured during the incident, which forced the terminal to close for several hours.

Following the gas attack, the group targeted the victims at a taxi forecourt to steal their suitcases. Judge Kwame Inyundo described the violence as “serious and sustained,” noting that the defendants showed a “particular and determined interest” in the victims' luggage.
