Overview

Four men—Tyrone Richards, 31, Anton Clarke-Butcher, 25, Omoneke Whyte, 31, and Denzel Eduardo, 29—have been sentenced to prison at Isleworth Crown Court following a violent robbery at London Heathrow Airport.

The group used suspected CS spray in a lift containing two women arriving from Johannesburg, causing the gas to leak to the ground floor and affect people in a nearby Caffè Nero. The attack resulted in 21 injuries, including one worker who reported vomiting blood, and forced a multi-hour lockdown of the terminal. Following the gas exposure, the group targeted the victims at a taxi forecourt to steal their suitcases.

Judge Kwame Inyundo described the defendants' actions as involving “serious and sustained” and “serious and prolonged violence,” noting a “particular and determined interest” in the victims' luggage.
