Heating oil prices rise in France amid increasing crude oil costs

Domestic heating oil prices in France are experiencing an upward trend, driven by rising crude oil costs. As of early October, average prices for 1,000 liters are reported between 1,849 and 1,888 euros across various specialized platforms. Regional disparities exist, with Limousin offering the lowest average rates at 1,835 euros per 1,000 liters, while Alsace reports the highest at 1,954 euros.

The price surge has significantly impacted household budgets. Compared to the low points seen in June, the cost of filling a 2,000-liter tank has increased by approximately 783 euros. Data indicates that while prices were as low as 140.08 cents per liter in late June, they reached 179.25 cents per liter by early September. This upward trajectory is linked to the rising price of Brent crude, which has reached levels above 101 dollars per barrel, suggesting further potential increases for consumers.
