Lebanon and Jordan weather: Heatwave to give way to storms
Lebanon is currently experiencing hot and humid summer weather, with temperatures remaining relatively stable through Friday. However, a low-pressure system centered northwest of Turkey is expected to approach the region, bringing a significant weather shift starting Friday afternoon and continuing through the weekend.
Forecasts indicate that temperatures will drop below seasonal averages starting Saturday, accompanied by cloudy skies and heavy localized thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. There is a high risk of flash floods, particularly in the northern regions of Lebanon, during the transition from Saturday into Sunday.
In Jordan, weather conditions remain relatively hot through Friday, particularly in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba areas. A slight decrease in temperatures is expected on Saturday, leading to more moderate summer conditions in most parts of the country.
