Heavy rain and weather alerts hit Delhi and Madhya Pradesh
Heavy rainfall and weather disturbances are affecting multiple regions in India, including Delhi and parts of Madhya Pradesh. In Delhi, sudden showers on September 27 have soaked streets from Lodi Garden to Mayur Vihar, bringing relief from heat and lowering temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the capital, noting that these rains are occurring even after the official withdrawal of the southwest monsoon on September 23.
In Madhya Pradesh, significant weather systems including a low-pressure area and a western disturbance are expected to trigger heavy rainfall through September 30. An orange alert for extremely heavy rain has been issued for Satna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari districts. Additionally, 29 other districts are under yellow or orange alerts, with forecasts predicting thunderstorms and wind gusts of 40-50 km/h across much of the state.
