Heavy rain causes landslides in Rize and thunderstorms in Aydın
Heavy rainfall has caused significant disruption across various regions in Turkey. In Rize, intense precipitation over the last two days has triggered landslides and water flooding. These incidents have affected 61 different locations across 42 villages in five districts, including Pazar, Çayeli, Ardeşen, and Fındıklı. Local authorities have deployed 23 heavy machines and 28 personnel to mitigate damage and restore access to affected villages.
In Aydın, the Meteorological 2nd Regional Directorate has issued warnings for the eastern parts of the province. Localized rain showers and thunderstorms are expected during the afternoons of August 15, 16, and 17. While temperatures remain high, with peaks reaching 37 degrees Celsius, the forecast indicates a shift toward clearer skies by August 18.
