The heaviest impacts are projected for the provinces of Bac Bo, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Ninh Binh. Authorities warn of flash flooding, landslides, strong winds (gale force 7‑8) and sea waves over 2 m, which could damage houses, trees, transport infrastructure and agricultural production. The centre notes that total rainfall in August may be 10‑30 % above the multi‑year average for the north, raising the likelihood of local flooding, soil erosion and damage to crops and roads.
