Heavy Rain Forecast Triggers Flood and Landslide Warnings in Nepal
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology warned that monsoon conditions will bring heavy rainfall to Nepal's hilly and mountainous areas, especially in Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces on July 26. Moderate rain is already occurring in several provinces, with thunderstorms expected across the hills and the Tarai.
Authorities cautioned that the heavy rain could cause flash floods, landslides, debris flows and soil erosion, potentially disrupting agriculture, health services, tourism, mountaineering and both road and air transport. The public was advised to stay alert, take precautions and follow the latest weather advisories.
