Heavy rainfall causes damage in Santa Eulària
The coastal area of Santa Eulària has been severely impacted by a second day of intense rainfall caused by the DANA Adam. Torrential rains led to overflowing streams, resulting in the closure of roads and significant damage to beaches such as es Figueral, Cala Llenya, and the Pou des Lleó area.
According to Aemet, Vila recorded the highest rainfall in the Pitiusas islands with 83.4 liters per square meter. The downpour, which occurred primarily during the early morning hours, caused closures at the Rotonda de los Podencos, the Jesús roundabout, and sections of the airport road and the E-20 highway. Landslides were also reported in Sant Carles and Sant Vicent.
Local authorities in Ibiza responded to the red alert by suspending school sessions and closing municipal facilities. The Consell d’Eivissa also suspended in-person attendance for general services staff, allowing only essential and emergency personnel, such as firefighters, to remain on duty.
