Rain bands moved across Hyderabad and several districts of Telangana on Monday evening, bringing light to moderate showers that intensified into heavier rainfall in parts of the state. Recorded totals included 101.5 mm in Sirpur (Kumuram Bheem Asifabad), 28 mm in Mamidipally and 26.5 mm in Adibatla, with the highest official measurement of 90 mm in Jayashankar Bhupalpally. The India Meteorological Department issued a thunderstorm alert, warning of lightning and gusty winds of 30‑40 km/h, and forecast continued scattered rain into Tuesday. The system was linked to a monsoon trough extending from northern India to the Bay of Bengal, which supplied moisture to the region. Local traffic was slowed by water‑logged streets, and the department advised the public to remain vigilant for isolated thunderstorms.
