Heavy rains cause flooding in Chile and storm damage in Spain
Heavy rainfall has caused significant disruptions in Chile's Choapa Province. In Illapel, precipitation reached 16.9 mm, while other areas like Huintil and Tilama recorded 12.2 mm and 11.4 mm respectively. The weather has led to road closures and flooding, particularly in the Las Trancas sector of Canela, where rising water levels on route D-71 have isolated the locality. Authorities have issued red alerts for certain sectors, and police are managing preventive road cuts to ensure safety.
In Spain, the prehistoric settlement of Algaba de Ronda is undergoing reconstruction following severe storm damage earlier this year. Intense winds exceeding 90 km/h and successive storms caused the collapse of nearly all the site's cabins. After a four-month closure, the center has begun reopening and rebuilding its structures to resume its archaeological research and educational activities.
