Heavy storms and flooding cause damage across parts of Mexico
Heavy rainfall and storms have caused significant damage and flooding across several regions in Mexico.
In Toluca, intense rain and hail flooded the Central de Abasto, causing water to accumulate in parking lots and enter commercial premises, affecting merchandise. In the municipality of Otzolotepec, specifically in the El Espino community, strong winds and lightning strikes downed four utility poles and several trees, leading to road closures.
In the state of Puebla, heavy rains on Thursday affected at least 10 homes in the El Fuerte de la Unión community within the Tepeyahualco de Hidalgo municipality. Damage includes water ingress and roof issues. The State Government, through Civil Protection, has deployed personnel to conduct damage assessments and monitor a nearby ravine where water levels are rising.
