Heavy storms cause power outages in Ibiza and high rainfall in Ribera
Heavy rainfall and intense electrical activity caused disruptions across parts of Spain. In Ibiza and Formentera, storms led to repeated power outages in Sant Josep and Sant Antoni. A fallen tree also forced the temporary closure of the road connecting Sant Josep with Cala Vedella, requiring intervention from local firefighters.
AEMET has lowered the alert level for the Pitiusas islands to yellow, though the weather system is expected to move toward Mallorca and Menorca. Despite the storms, temperatures remained tropical, with an average minimum of 21.5 degrees Celsius.
In the Ribera region, Llaurí recorded the highest accumulation, exceeding 60 liters per square meter after a sudden downpour of 56 liters in 45 minutes. Other areas such as Alzira and Sueca also reported significant rainfall, with accumulations reaching up to 59 liters per square meter. Local authorities indicated that the rain in Llaurí did not cause major problems.
