Heiman and Meross launch new Matter over Thread smart home devices
Smart home manufacturers Heiman and Meross are expanding their product lines with new devices utilizing the Matter over Thread protocols.
Heiman has launched the HS2SK-M-EU, a smart plug that supports Matter 1.4. The device features integrated power consumption measurement, allowing users to monitor energy usage and integrate data into automation systems. It operates via Thread, eliminating the need for Wi-Fi, though it requires a Thread Border Router and a Matter controller. The plug supports up to 3,000 watts and includes protections against overload, overcurrent, and overvoltage. It is compatible with platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, and Home Assistant.
Meross has introduced the MTS155 smart radiator thermostat, which also leverages Matter and Thread. This connectivity allows the device to integrate directly with existing Thread Border Routers without requiring a proprietary Meross hub. The thermostat includes features such as window-open detection, which pauses heating for 30 minutes upon detecting a sudden temperature drop, temperature calibration, frost protection, and a child lock. It is compatible with Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant.
