Helen Kevric returns to European Gymnastics Championships without a coach
German gymnast Helen Kevric is set to make her international comeback at the European Championships in Zagreb following a severe knee injury sustained in May 2025. Despite her return, Kevric faces a unique challenge as she is currently without a coach.
Kevric, an Olympic sixth-place finisher on the uneven bars, has struggled with coaching stability following abuse allegations at the Stuttgart gymnastics center. The German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) previously hired Aimee Boorman, the former coach of Simone Biles, but the partnership was mutually dissolved in March due to difficulties operating within the changing environment in Stuttgart.
While Kevric competes without a dedicated coach, her teammates, including Silja Stöhr, Karina Schönmaier, Pauline Schäfer-Betz, and Lea Marie Quaas, will have full coaching support. German national coach Gerben Wiersma expressed high ambitions for the team, aiming to reach the team final and secure a position among the top five nations.
