Thessaloniki Exhibition Center redevelopment tender deadline extended

The deadline for submitting financial bids for the redevelopment of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center (TID-HELEXPO) has been extended to October 12, 2026. The National Development Fund made the decision following significant interest from major construction companies, some of whom requested more time to prepare their proposals.

The project, valued at approximately €204.6 million including VAT, aims to transform the 120-acre site into a modern international exhibition and convention hub. Key components of the redevelopment include the construction of two new exhibition buildings, the upgrading of the Ioannis Vellidis Convention Center, and the creation of extensive green spaces and public areas. Additionally, the plan features a 1,064-space underground parking facility to alleviate urban traffic.

The selected contractor will have 48 months to complete the works, which will be carried out in stages to ensure that exhibition activities at the site can continue during construction.
