Thessaloniki International Exhibition redevelopment

The management of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition (ΔΕΘ-HELEXPO) announced a major redevelopment plan involving three implementation stages. The project includes constructing two new exhibition buildings, renovating the ‘I. Vellidis’ Convention Center, creating a 120-acre Metropolitan Park, and adding 1,064 underground parking spaces.

Following the initial announcement of an international tender, the National Development Fund extended the deadline for submitting bids to October 12, 2026. This extension follows requests from at least four interested companies seeking additional time to prepare for the large-scale project. The redevelopment has an estimated budget of approximately 205 million euros (including VAT) and is expected to take 48 months to complete.

Under the modified terms, interested parties may submit inquiries until October 1, 2026, with supplementary information and clarifications to be provided by October 6. The electronic opening of the bids is scheduled for October 12, 2026. The selected contractor will be required to carry out the works in stages to ensure that exhibition activities at the site can continue during the construction period.
