ΔΕΘ-HELEXPO unveils major redevelopment and 90th anniversary plans

The management of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition (ΔΕΘ-HELEXPO) has presented a major redevelopment plan to its Advisory Committee. The project, which will be implemented in three stages to ensure continuous operation, includes the construction of two new exhibition buildings, the renovation of the ‘I. Vellidis’ Convention Center, and the creation of a 120-acre Metropolitan Park. Additionally, the plan features 1,064 underground parking spaces.

An international tender for the project is currently underway with a deadline of September 21. Alongside the redevelopment news, officials highlighted the upcoming 90th anniversary of the exhibition (September 5-13), which marks 100 years since its first event in 1926. Japan will be the honored country for this year's event.
