Hellenic Olympic Committee launches youth program for Brisbane 2032

The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) has unanimously approved a new support program titled ‘Youth Development Team – Brisbane 2032’. This initiative aims to identify and support promising Greek athletes aged 14 to 18 to prepare them for future Olympic Games.

Scheduled to become fully operational on January 1, 2027, the program will last for an initial two years with the possibility of a two-year extension. Selection will be based on objective, measurable athletic criteria, specifically emphasizing international distinctions achieved within the last year.

Participants will receive comprehensive support, including financial assistance for high-level competitions through a ‘Adopt an Athlete’ sponsorship program, medical and diagnostic services, and necessary training equipment. Additionally, the HOC will support the academic and educational development of the athletes to ensure a balance between their sporting and educational paths.
