Hellenic Olympic Committee youth development program

Overview

The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) has unanimously approved the ‘Youth Development Team – Brisbane 2032’ program. Designed to support promising Greek athletes aged 14 to 18, the initiative aims to prepare them for future Olympic Games by identifying talent through objective, measurable athletic criteria and international distinctions achieved within the previous year.

Scheduled to become operational on January 1, 2027, the program will initially run for two years with a potential two-year extension. Modeled after strategies used for the Los Angeles 2028 Pre-Olympic Team, the framework provides comprehensive assistance, including financial support via an ‘Adopt an Athlete’ sponsorship program, medical and diagnostic services, and necessary training equipment. The HOC also intends to support the academic and educational development of participants to balance their sporting and educational paths.
