Hellenic Police demonstrate tactical technology at Thessaloniki International Fair

During the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), the Hellenic Police conducted a high-risk tactical demonstration involving advanced technology and international cooperation. The exercise featured members of EKAM, Italy’s G.I.S., and Austria’s EKO Cobra—three elite units belonging to the European ATLAS Network.

The simulation involved a robbery scenario where an armed suspect was barricaded inside a location. A robotic dog played a decisive role by approaching the site first and opening a door, providing special forces with a tactical advantage. The robot also successfully compelled the suspect to drop his weapon following instructions delivered via loudspeaker. Following the robot's intervention, EKAM officers entered the premises to apprehend the suspect. Throughout the operation, drones provided continuous aerial surveillance and real-time intelligence to the tactical teams.
