Hellenic Rail Estate rebrands GAIOSE to focus on railway assets
GAIOSE has officially rebranded as Hellenic Rail Estate, marking a strategic transformation to focus exclusively on railway real estate management. During an event at the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, CEO Panagiotis Balomenos reported that the maturity of key assets has increased from 20% to 60% within two years.
The company’s portfolio value rose by 16%, growing from 153 million euros in 2023 to an estimated 177 million euros by 2025. Key assets include approximately 590 residences in high-demand housing areas and a student dormitory with 443 rooms in Thessaloniki.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Giorgos Kotsiras highlighted the planned redevelopment of the New Thessaloniki Railway Station through public-private partnerships. A tender for this project is expected to launch by the end of the year, aiming to transform the station into a hub for tourism and commercial development.
