Hello Games to continue free updates for No Man's Sky

Sean Murray, head of Hello Games, has reaffirmed the studio's commitment to providing free content updates for the space survival game ‘No Man’s Sky’. Despite the game's rocky launch in 2016, the studio has released approximately 40 major updates over the last decade to rebuild its reputation and community engagement.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Murray stated that while the decision to forgo paid DLC and in-app purchases may not be the most commercially efficient path, it is essential for maintaining the team's passion and preventing player fragmentation. He noted that the studio's small size—fewer than 20 people—allows them to remain insulated from broader industry pressures and focus on the enjoyment of the development process.

Beyond ‘No Man’s Sky’, Hello Games also confirmed that development continues on their upcoming title, ‘Light No Fire’.
