Hellweg insolvency hardware stores store closures restructuring

The restructuring administrator for Hellweg hardware stores has filed an application with the Linz Regional Court to close the Graz-Raaba and Fürstenfeld branches in Austria. This decision follows an assessment by a potential investor who determined that no viable continuation scenario existed for these two Styrian locations.

The closures will affect approximately 44 employees. Existing stock at these locations will be liquidated through a specialized company.

Negotiations are continuing with the same potential investor regarding four other Austrian locations: Ried im Innkreis, Graz-Eggenberg, Straßwalchen, and Kirchdorf an der Krems. The objective is to transfer these remaining sites to an investor in an orderly manner. This follows the opening of self-administration insolvency proceedings for Hellweg Austria on June 30, 2026, after the German Hellweg group entered insolvency in mid-June 2026.
