Helmond Sport open day and Zwijndrecht Smoutpotkermis attract families in the Netherlands
On Saturday 18 July, Helmond Sport will hold its Open Day at the De Braak stadium. The event, starting at 13:00, offers activities for all ages, a kids zone, partner stalls and food outlets, plus a free practice match at 16:00 between the Helmond squad and the amateur Magische Spons Regioteam. Supporters can meet players, obtain autographs and take photos, and local entertainers are invited to perform on a stage.
From 22 to 24 May, Zwijndrecht will host the Smoutpotkermis, a three‑day festival featuring an after‑work party, multiple DJ sets, a traditional petanque tournament, a barbecue, live music acts and a family fair with rides, food trucks and craft stalls. The programme includes performances by local bands and DJs, a barbecue lunch, and a range of activities for children. Both events are free of charge and aim to bring together families and the community.
These local Dutch celebrations underline the emphasis on community engagement through sport and culture, providing free entertainment and opportunities for residents to gather.
