Herceg Novi to award firefighters for August fire response

Stevan Katić, the President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, has decided to award financial bonuses to all members of the local Service for Protection and Rescue. The decision recognizes their efforts and professionalism during the fires that affected the city in August.

Katić emphasized that the firefighters demonstrated courage and responsibility while protecting lives, homes, and property under extremely difficult conditions. In addition to the immediate bonuses, he announced an initiative to urge state institutions to legally increase salary coefficients for these services to ensure long-term compensation that reflects the risks of their profession. He also expressed gratitude to all parties that assisted in fighting the large-scale fires and plans to host a reception for all participating services and associations once the situation stabilizes.
