Montenegro tourism sees growth in arrivals and revenue

Montenegro is experiencing a significant rise in tourism activity. Data from the National Tourist Organization indicates that as of September 10, 93,000 tourists were visiting the country, a 14 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue from tourist taxes has also risen by over 8 percent. Additionally, Montenegro's national parks recorded approximately 770,000 visits, a 13 percent increase, generating 3.3 million euros in ticket revenue.

In Herceg Novi, despite water restrictions affecting approximately 20 percent of hotels without independent supply systems, the tourist numbers remain stable. The local tourism organization reports that while infrastructure challenges pose operational difficulties for private accommodations, the overall post-season remains active.

Cultural tourism is also seeing growth in the region. The Humac Franciscan Museum near Ljubuško in Bosnia and Herzegovina reported approximately 7,000 visitors for the year, with increasing interest from international tourists. Similarly, the Mirko Komnenović City Museum in Herceg Novi attracts roughly 450 monthly visitors, highlighting the continued importance of historical and cultural sites to the regional tourism sector.
