Hercegovina-Neretva education unions cancel planned September strike

Education unions in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNŽ) have decided to cancel their previously announced protest and warning strike scheduled for September 7. This decision is intended to provide the HNŽ Government with an opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue regarding the working conditions and rights of education employees.

The four participating unions stated that they have attempted to initiate discussions with the government since May, but faced delays and requests for written clarifications. Following a recent invitation to negotiate, which arrived shortly before the planned start of the school year, the unions opted to postpone industrial action as a gesture of goodwill.

The start of the school year has been postponed to September 14. The unions emphasized that this postponement is not a withdrawal of their demands, but rather a call for the government to take responsibility and reach concrete solutions through dialogue.
