Labor disputes in Bosnia and Serbia

Labor unions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia initiated industrial actions due to administrative and management disputes. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science, and Culture in Una-Sana Canton scheduled a one-hour warning strike for September 1, citing wage disparities and government failure to update regulations regarding teacher evaluations and career advancement.

In the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, education unions initially planned a strike for September 7. However, they later decided to cancel the protest to allow for dialogue with the government following an invitation to negotiate. As a result of these tensions, the start of the school year was postponed to September 14. The unions noted that the postponement is a gesture of goodwill rather than a withdrawal of their demands.

In Serbia, the BioSens Institute union called for a warning strike on August 28 to protest leadership changes and alleged misconduct by the Board of Directors, including the misuse of official positions and unauthorized handling of sensitive data.
