Heredia shooting leaves one man dead and another critically injured

Two brothers, identified by the surname Rojas, were victims of an ambush in the Guararí sector of Heredia. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on a Sunday when the men were walking along an alleyway and were intercepted by a group of gunmen who opened fire.

The Judicial Investigation Organism (OIJ) reported that the older brother, aged 35, died shortly after being transported to a medical center due to a gunshot wound to the chest. The younger brother, aged 31, also sustained a chest wound and remains in critical condition receiving medical attention. Authorities have not yet determined a motive, though they are not ruling out a targeted settlement.
