Heritage preservation efforts in Mallorca and Lleida
In Mallorca, archaeological interventions have been carried out at the Can Xim site in Sencelles to protect prehistoric heritage. The primary focus was Talaiot 1, where a large fig tree trunk was threatening the structure's stability by displacing stones and opening the walls. Technical teams dismantled the upper lintel and side walls to remove the tree and clean accumulated sediment, subsequently repositioning the original stone blocks and adding new elements to consolidate the structure.
In Lleida, the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC) organized the ArquiVolta 2026 architectural route. The tour, which drew approximately 150 participants, honored the legacy of architect Francesc de Paula Morera i Gatell on the 75th anniversary of his death. The route highlighted seven emblematic buildings and spaces, including the former Farinera Llusà, a modernist industrial site from 1915, and the neoclassical Casa Plubins.
