Hero Karizma XMR 250 and KTM 250 Duke Motorbike Launches in India

Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch its first 250 cc sport bike, the Karizma XMR 250, in the Indian market. Spy shots from dealerships show a production‑ready, black‑and‑red fully‑faired model with a 249 cc liquid‑cooled DOHC engine delivering about 30 PS and 25 Nm, a 6‑speed gearbox, dual‑channel ABS, TFT display and extensive connectivity features. The bike is expected to be priced around ₹2 lakh ex‑showroom and will compete with the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, KTM RC 200 and the upcoming Yamaha R2.

KTM has already updated its 250 cc streetfighter, the KTM 250 Duke, for the 2026 model year. Launched on 24 February 2026, the bike retains its Gen‑3 platform and adds new colour options, a 5‑inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity and Quickshifter+. Powered by a 249.07 cc liquid‑cooled engine producing 31 PS, it is priced at roughly ₹2.30 lakh ex‑showroom (₹2.65‑2.85 lakh on‑road). Both launches highlight a growing premium‑segment push by manufacturers in India’s two‑wheel market.
