Hesse roadworks disrupt A5/A45 motorways and Wiesbaden bus routes

The Autobahn GmbH announced a three‑phase renovation of the Gambacher Kreuz in the Wetterau district. From July 1 to July 12, the ramp from the A5 to the A45 toward Hanau is closed, with detour U21 via the B‑road to Münzenberg. A second closure on the A45 to A5 toward Kassel runs July 15‑26, using detour U97. A final restriction affecting the A45 toward Hanau to the A5 toward Basel begins July 28 and lasts until August 4, with narrowed lanes and a shortened exit.

Separately, the City of Wiesbaden and Hessenwasser GmbH will divert bus lines 8 and N9 because of deep‑tunnel construction. Buses are rerouted from July 6 to August 5, bypassing the Schiersteiner Straße and temporarily skipping the Paulinenklinik, Willy‑Brandt‑Allee and Waldstraße stops. Travelers are advised to allow extra time and consult the city’s information portals for updated schedules.
