Hezbollah lawmaker urges Israel to withdraw from Lebanon within 60 days

Hezbollah parliamentary bloc head Mohammad Raad said Israel must complete its withdrawal from Lebanese territory within 60 days, citing the United States‑Iran "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" signed by President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The memorandum calls for an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, guarantees Lebanon’s territorial integrity, and includes provisions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the U.S. naval blockade on Iran.

Raad urged Lebanese authorities to study the text carefully, warned against underestimating Iran’s ability to enforce the agreement, and cautioned against cooperating with Israel against Hezbollah. He made the remarks as Israeli forces continue daily attacks in southern Lebanon, with official figures reporting nearly 4,000 deaths, about 12,000 injuries and more than 1 million people displaced. A fifth round of Lebanon‑Israel talks is scheduled in Washington for 22 June.
