Hezbollah leader predicts Israeli withdrawal as IDF expands space capabilities

Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem stated that the liberation of southern Lebanon is inevitable and that Israeli forces will eventually be forced to withdraw. Speaking at a ceremony for the foundation of a legacy center for the late Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, Qassem characterized the conflict as unfolding in rounds and emphasized the steadfastness of the resistance.

In a separate development regarding military capabilities, Israel is expanding its presence in the space domain. Following a Hezbollah strike on the Valley of Elah satellite station in March 2026, which targeted strategic communications, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are moving to establish a strategic Space Brigade within the IDF General Staff. This follows a trend of nations recognizing space as an operational front, similar to the establishment of the U.S. Space Force and the deployment of classified on-orbit space control weapons by the United States.
