Hezbollah pushes Israel border clashes into northern settlements amid spy disappearance

The Israeli military confirmed that Hezbollah has succeeded in moving ground confrontations from the Israel‑Lebanon border into the depth of northern Israeli settlements. Four villages – Manara, Misgav Am, Margaliot and another – were placed under emergency orders, residents were told to stay indoors and Highway 886 in the Finger of the Galilee was closed.

At the same time, a man identified as Khaled al‑Aydi, a Palestinian refugee with Ukrainian citizenship, escaped from a Hezbollah detention cell in Beirut’s suburbs and vanished near the gates of the Ukrainian embassy in Baabda, Lebanon. Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah officials have linked the disappearance to ongoing intelligence rivalries, raising the risk of further political tension between Lebanon’s government and Hezbollah amid the broader Israel‑Hezbollah conflict.
