Hezbollah rejects US‑backed Israel‑Lebanon security pact, vows armed resistance

Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naeem Qassem denounced the United States‑mediated security framework between Israel and Lebanon, calling it a violation of Lebanese sovereignty and “humiliating” and “shameful”. He said the agreement would legitimize Israeli presence in occupied Lebanese areas and pledged that Hezbollah will continue armed resistance until all Israeli forces fully withdraw.

The rejection came a day after the pact was signed, and the statement was made amid reports of an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon. Qassem argued that instead of the US‑Israeli‑Lebanon framework, the Iran‑US agreement guaranteeing a cease‑fire and Israeli withdrawal should be implemented.
