HGI prepares for IPO with major coffee expansion plans

Hoang Anh Gia Lai International (HGI) is preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) with ambitious growth targets. Chairman Doan Nguyen Duc announced that the company expects profits to exceed 1,800 billion VND in 2026 and 2,900 billion VND in 2027.

The company’s strategy relies on a diverse agricultural portfolio. Coffee is positioned as the primary driver for long-term growth. HGI plans to expand its coffee cultivation from 1,549 hectares in 2027 to over 6,300 hectares by 2028, eventually surpassing the combined area of bananas and durian.

HGI is collaborating with the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (WASI) to develop specialized coffee varieties. The company is increasing its investment in coffee development, with costs projected to rise from 790 billion VND to 1,401 billion VND in the first half of the upcoming period.
