HGI agricultural expansion and IPO

Overview

Hoang Anh Gia Lai International (HGI) has moved forward with plans for an initial public offering (IPO) to fund agricultural expansion and debt restructuring. The company received approval to issue 18.8 million shares at 60,600 VND per share, targeting a total value of approximately 1,139 billion VND. The subscription period is set for August 18 to September 7, 2026.

As the company prepares for the offering, Chairman Doan Nguyen Duc has outlined aggressive growth targets, projecting profits to exceed 1,800 billion VND in 2026 and 2,900 billion VND in 2027. HGI intends to leverage its diverse agricultural portfolio, which includes bananas, durian, and coffee. While bananas currently provide the primary cash flow, the company is shifting focus toward coffee as a long-term driver. HGI plans to expand coffee cultivation from 1,549 hectares in 2027 to over 6,300 hectares by 2028, supported by increased investment and collaboration with the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (WASI) to develop specialized varieties.
