Chiapas Governor Eduardo Ramírez survives helicopter emergency landing
The helicopter carrying Chiapas Governor Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar underwent an emergency maneuver on August 28, 2026, while traveling to the municipality of Pantepec. The incident was caused by a combination of low visibility due to dense fog and an unexpected crossing of birds along the flight path.
The pilot performed a controlled emergency descent, landing the aircraft in a grassland area in the municipality of Ocozocoautla to ensure the safety of the passengers. The governor, who was accompanied by members of his infrastructure, social communication, and citizen attention cabinets, reported that no injuries occurred during the event.
Following the landing, Ramírez Aguilar praised the professionalism and skill of the flight crew for preventing a major accident. Despite the disruption, the governor continued his official agenda, including the inauguration of a road reconstruction project in the region.
