Hidalgo men sentenced to 50 years for aggravated kidnapping

Two men, identified by the initials J. C. M. F. and A. S. Z., have been sentenced to 50 years in prison for aggravated kidnapping in Progreso de Obregón, Hidalgo.

The incident occurred in February 2024, when one of the suspects visited a vehicle lot and requested a test drive to facilitate the crime. Following the abduction, the victim's family received phone calls demanding a ransom of 600,000 pesos.

Through investigations by the Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping (UECS) of the Hidalgo State Attorney General's Office, authorities located the victim and rescued them during an operation in Xochitlán. The suspects were subsequently arrested and convicted, receiving the 50-year sentence along with orders to pay for damages.
