Hidalgo records 99 COVID-19 cases and six deaths in July 2026

The state health authority reported that Hidalgo accumulated 99 confirmed COVID-19 cases and six related deaths as of 20 July 2026. The latest weekly data (13‑20 July) showed 16 new infections, indicating continued transmission.

With this total, Hidalgo ranks third nationally for case count, behind Mexico City (410 cases) and the State of Mexico (116 cases). It also leads the country in case‑fatality rate, exceeding 28 percent. Officials urged residents to maintain preventive measures, seek medical care for respiratory symptoms, and protect vulnerable groups such as seniors and people with chronic conditions.
