Hidalgo reports significant job growth and agricultural investment

The state of Hidalgo is reporting significant economic and administrative developments under the administration of Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar. In the labor sector, the state has generated over 39,545 formal jobs in four years, with 20,000 placements facilitated through state labor services. These efforts include labor mobility programs that have placed workers in countries such as Germany, the United States, Canada, and Spain.

The agricultural sector has seen a massive budgetary increase, with investment tripling from 229 million pesos in 2022 to over 721 million pesos currently. This has helped Hidalgo lead national production in barley, wool, and pulque maguey.

Additionally, the state is focusing on tourism and infrastructure. Hidalgo has been recognized as a top destination on Booking.com and is investing in professionalizing service providers. In Torreón, efforts are underway to attract South Korean investment in high-tech sectors like semiconductors and AI. Meanwhile, administrative updates to the State Development Plan 2022-2028 aim to align public policy with regional growth goals.
