HIFK appoints Tommi Miettinen as head coach

Helsingin IFK (HIFK) has appointed Tommi Miettinen as its new head coach, signing him to a contract covering the remainder of the season. Miettinen returns to coaching after a one-year hiatus following his dismissal from Turun Palloseura (TPS) in the spring of 2025.

Miettinen takes over a struggling squad that has earned only 15 points from 14 matches, currently sitting in 15th place below the relegation line. He replaces Olli Jokinen, who was dismissed following an unsuccessful tenure characterized by structural deficiencies in the team's play.

Miettinen stated that the decision to accept the role was made quickly after discussions with the club's management, noting that their views on the current state of the team aligned.
