Hilton and Iberostar announce luxury expansions in Mexico and Jamaica

Major hospitality groups are expanding and renovating their luxury and family-oriented offerings in the Caribbean and Mexico.

Hilton has announced that the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya will join its all-inclusive portfolio. Starting January 10, 2027, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will operate as an adults-only resort, focusing on privacy, wellness activities like Mayan breathing and sound healing, and personalized concierge services. The Conrad Tulum will offer a multi-generational approach suitable for both couples and families.

Meanwhile, Iberostar is repositioning its hotel stock. In the Riviera Maya, the Iberostar Waves Tucán and Iberostar Waves Quetzal are scheduled to reopen on December 1, 2026, following comprehensive renovations of their 700 rooms, pools, and dining areas. Additionally, the JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is completing a deep transformation of its 295 suites and common areas to align with the brand’s luxury collection.
