Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Inaugurates 200‑Bed Hospital at Chamba Medical College

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a new INR 158‑198 crore, 200‑bed hospital building at Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. The facility includes outpatient departments across eight specialties, a casualty unit, radiology, operation theatres and 200 inpatient beds, and it began specialist services in psychiatry, gynaecology and dermatology immediately.

Sukhu announced additional equipment upgrades such as a new X‑ray machine, laparoscopic tools, a CT scanner and a 3‑Tesla MRI, and said the state will explore robotic surgery once faculty positions are filled. The inauguration was part of a two‑day visit that also saw foundation stones laid for road projects worth over INR 500 crore and other development works in the district.
