Himachal Pradesh weather alert: Rain, hail, and snowfall reported

Himachal Pradesh is experiencing significant weather shifts, characterized by heavy rain, hailstorms, and snowfall in high-altitude regions. An Orange Alert remains in effect for several areas, with the Meteorological Centre in Shimla predicting unsettled conditions to continue until October 12.

Snowfall has been reported in the higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Pangi, and Kullu, including the Pir Panjal range and Rohtang Pass. In Shimla, residents experienced heavy rain accompanied by hail. A yellow warning has also been issued for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 50 kmph in isolated locations.

The adverse weather has caused localized disruptions, including a landslide near the Shoghi-Dhalli bypass that briefly closed the road. While no injuries or vehicle damage were reported in the landslide incident, authorities have advised caution for commuters and tourists due to the risk of falling debris and trees.
