Hindustan Petroleum Corp assures uninterrupted fuel supply amid shortage rumors
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) denied reports of fuel shortages and supply disruptions across its retail network in India, stating that fuel availability at its outlets remains normal with regular replenishment. In a post on X, the company called the rumors "misleading" and explained that temporary queues at some stations were due to seasonal demand in May and customers shifting to HPCL pumps because of higher prices at private outlets. HPCL highlighted that all 87 retail outlets in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district are fully operational, noting a 15.8% rise in petrol sales and a 21.1% increase in diesel sales compared with historical averages, indicating stable supply. The firm urged consumers not to panic‑buy and to rely only on official communications, warning against misinformation circulating on social media and television.
HPCL reiterated its commitment to uninterrupted fuel service and seamless customer experience nationwide.
