Hindustan Unilever Q1 FY27 profit dip triggers mixed market reaction and broker upgrades

Hindustan Unilever reported a 3% year‑on‑year decline in consolidated net profit to about Rs 2,673‑2,680 crore for the June quarter, while revenue rose roughly 10% to Rs 17,340 crore driven by a 5% increase in underlying volume.

The company said it absorbed half of the roughly 10% input‑cost inflation, passing only a 5% price increase to consumers and focusing on volume‑led growth. EBITDA rose 8% to Rs 3,947 crore, with the margin holding at about 23%.

After the earnings release, HUL shares fell nearly 6% on the day, but intraday buying pressure lifted the stock about 4% later, with a rebound of roughly 3.9% on the same session. Several brokerage houses upgraded their ratings and set target prices between Rs 2,450 and Rs 2,850, calling the stock bullish despite the profit miss.
